James Madison’s Montpelier
A comprehensive WordPress redesign involving months of planning, large-scale content restructuring, new page architecture, event functionality, and an extensive transition from the site’s previous structure.
Overview
The Montpelier website underwent a comprehensive redesign using Elementor Pro following an extensive planning process with the client.
A major part of the project extended beyond visual design. The existing website contained a large number of pages and established URLs that needed to be evaluated as part of a new information architecture. Some legacy pages were removed or consolidated while entirely new sections and content paths were introduced.
My Contribution
I contributed to planning, WordPress development, page creation, and implementation of the redesigned website. The project required careful management of the transition between old and new site structures, including reorganizing content, establishing new pages and sections, and handling existing links and content relationships.
The team also implemented an events calendar system for Montpelier’s programming and visitor information. I continue to support performance optimization, forms, email delivery, security, image optimization, technical SEO, troubleshooting, and monthly maintenance.
