A publication rebuild with migrated archives, reorganized content, and a modern WordPress publishing structure.
The starting point
This publication was a hard one to modernize. It ran on a badly outdated WordPress install with serious security problems, and those had to be handled while its replacement was being built.
The project combined security cleanup, content preservation, migration and restructuring with a full rebuild of the site.
What I did
Helped triage and stabilize the legacy WordPress site while the new one was in development.
Rebuilt the publication to line up with the publisher’s other journal sites.
Migrated and reorganized the existing editorial content.
Built dedicated content types and templates for articles, videos, podcasts, news and other media, so the continuing publication is easier to manage.
Continue to support performance, security, forms, technical SEO, image optimization, development and monthly maintenance.
