Portfolio and Field Notes Website
My own WordPress site, rebuilt as a portfolio and a place to write, on native blocks with a structured project library.
The starting point
The site started as a page for finding WordPress work. As my day job moved into web operations, I wanted it to show the work itself and the thinking behind it instead of selling services.
That meant a portfolio that says where every project happened, a home for Field Notes, and a build I can keep editing in the block editor without touching code.
What I did
- Designed and built it on GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks, with every page made of native blocks and a shared header and footer.
- Built a project library with its own content type, source and type filters, and a details panel for role, stack and results.
- Set up Field Notes with categories, search, a contents list on longer notes, structured data, and redirects from the old addresses.
Project Views

What I’d do differently
Building every page from native blocks took longer up front and made every later change faster.
